Our Youth
The Future of our Deaf Youth
The Australian Deaf Games has been the springboard towards sporting success for many of our elite Deaf Sports people. One became an Olympian. Another became a competitor at a number of Commonweath Games.
Athletes at the Games will be uniquely positioned to compete for a place in the Australian Squad, to be formed for the lead up to the Deaflympics to be held in Melbourne in 2005.
Deaf Sports Australia, the peak body for Deaf Sports in Australia has as one of its primary focus areas the development of our young deaf sports people, and reward success with training opportunities and exposure to competition at the Deaflympics.
To eligible candidates, GOC offers a registration waiver to compete at the Games.
Candidates must be deaf or hard of hearing and be 16 years old or under on the day of the commencement day of the Games.
To apply for the grant, please download the Young Athlete Support Grant form below.
