Deaf Netball Australia is a organisation that focuses on netball events and programs for deaf and hard of hearing Australians. Deaf Netball Australia (DNA) is the National Body for deaf, hard of hearing and hearing impaired netball players throughout Australia. We act as an umbrella body for our affiliated State Deaf Netball Associations.
Some of the events which Deaf Netball Australia runs with their State Deaf Netball Associations are the yearly National Deaf Netball Club Championships as well as the 4 yearly Australian Deaf Games.
Deaf Netball Australia is affiliated with Deaf Sports Australia, and also works closely with Netball Australia.
Vinnie has been involved in netball since she was 10. She played in her local hearing competitions with her local club. She got involved in deaf netball by participating in the Margo Allen national championships when she was 16. When she played for Sydney Bluebirds. She was asked to represent Australia in the NZ tour. She was still involved in deaf netball for NSW/ACT until her move to Melbourne. An opportunity arose to help with DNA, she now has taken on the challenging role as the Secretary.
DNA is please to announce that Deaf Netball Victoria will be hosting the 2014 National Deaf Netball Club Championships (NDNCC) in Melbourne, Victoria.
The event will be held on 7th to 9th of June 2014 (Queen's Birthday Weekend).
In 2015, Deaf Netball Australia will be hosting the NDNCC to raise some extra funds so we can provide a better Australian Deaf Games experience to be held in Adelaide in 2016.
