About the Australian Deaf Games

The Australian Deaf Games ("the Games") is the pinnacle of deaf sporting events in Australia and is owned and managed by Deaf Sports Australia ("DSA"). Involving up to 20 sports and now held every four years, the Games attract competitors from all over Australia and for the first time in 2008, from New Zealand. And while sport is central to the event, the Games also provide a major social and cultural festival for the whole deaf community.

2012 Australian Deaf Games

We recently held the Games at Geelong which was a huge success with over 1,000 participants and visitors taking part. The Games hosted a range of 16 sports including 4 new demonstration sports such as Futsal, Mixed Netball, Rugby 7's and Touch Football.

We received tremendous support from a range of event partners including Sport and Recreation Victoria, City of Geelong, Vicdeaf, TAC, ACE who ensured the Games were a success!

The 2016 Australian Deaf Games will be held in Adelaide. Dates and details to be confirmed later this year.
