AUSTRALIAN DEAF GAMES 2008

SPORTS PROGRAM

The 2008 Australian Deaf Games will be located along one of Australia's most frequented pieces of Coastline. During June 2006 DSA appointed Bobbie Blackson as the Chair of the Gold Coast Organising Committee. Within the first few months of this appointment Bobbie has been busy assessing:

  1. Competition Venues
  2. Social Venues
  3. Opening & Closing Ceremony Details
  4. Games Merchandising
  5. Participation Package Costing

 

The 2008 Sports Program will consist of:

Basketball                   Men   -   Women

Beach Volleyball         Men   -   Women

Cricket                        Men  

Darts                           Men   -   Women

Eight Ball                    Men   -   Women

Futsal                         Men   -   Women

Golf                             Men   -   Women

Lawn Bowls                 Men   -   Women

Netball                       Women

Squash                       Men   -   Women

Swimming                  Men   -   Women

Table Tennis              Men   -   Women

Ten Pin Bowling         Men   -   Women

Tennis                       Men   -   Women

The following sports are considered as “ADG-Sports” but they run integrated into local events.

Athletics                      Men   -   Women

Cycling                        Men  

Orienteering                Men   -  Women

Shooting                     Men   -  Women

Triathlon                     Men   -  Women

Waterpolo                   Men   &    Women

The following sports are considered as “Non ADG-Sports” but they run clinics or games at own expenses.

Badminton                 Men   -   Women

Hockey - clinic only    Men   &   Women

Rugby 7 or Touch       Men   &   Women

Soccer                      Men   -   Women

Wrestling - (Clinic)     Men
